Multimessenger astronomy in the Einstein Telescope Era
Padova
Ten years after the LVK collaboration’s first direct detection of gravitational waves, upcoming projects such as the Einstein Telescope, LISA, and LGWA—alongside high-energy neutrinos recently detected by KM3NeT and IceCube—provide an exceptional framework for exploring new discoveries in multi-messenger research. This progress is further bolstered by a new generation of instruments, both operational and under construction, which feature significant Italian contributions and are revolutionizing electromagnetic observations across all wavelengths.
Building on the experience and results of the GRAWITA collaboration and the recent METE project, this meeting aims to stimulate discussion on the scientific objectives and organization of the Italian multi-messenger community. It will also explore the interdisciplinary and innovative opportunities this field will offer over the coming decade.
