Travel Info

Lecco is a relatively small city located at the end of the Est branch of the Como lake (a “Y” upside down). It is a city with an important industrial heritage but also with a touristic vocation thanks to the lake and to the mountains surrounding it. It is one of the Italian capitals for climbing and other mountaineering activities.

Getting to Lecco is relatively simple. From the main airports in the area (Malpensa, Linate, Orio al Serio) you can either take a car or a taxi or, much better choice, you can get to Milan or Bergamo via train or shuttles in the airport and then there are rather frequent trains to Lecco.

Train information can be found here, and it is possible to buy tickets online.

If, at the airport, you prefer to take a taxi directly to Lecco there are many options. We manage to have rather reasonable fares by a private company (NCC One Class). They can offer a transfer to/from the airports from/to Lecco at 130€ (Malpensa), 105€ (Linate) and 95€ (Bergamo). If you are interested you can book a ride by writing a message (whatsup, SMS) to +39 393 517 2519 or just sending an email.

There is also a taxi service in Lecco. You can access to it calling +39 0341 364490.

The city also hosts a bike-sharing service. You can access it by iOS or Android apps.

Last, but not least of course, there is the navigation service across the lake. Timetables and information can be found here.
