--> ! IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE GEOLOGIC FIELD TRIP ! <--
We will travel through the Colli Albani volcano by bus and do a 2-hour easy hike in the middle of the day (3.7km with about 100 meters elevation gain). We will stop in key places to observe the different rocks and morphologies and understand the geologic evolution of the area of Castelli Romani, where we are having the LGWA Workshop 2024.
We will meet at 9 in Castel Gandolfo (details given at the conference) and will be back at 4-5pm.
Weather:
The estimated temperature range for Oct 11th is 12-25 degrees Celsius with ~60% humidity, which means a pleasant day with sun and a bit chilly if cloudy or windy. If it rains heavily, we will go back with a visit to a museum.
What to bring:
- clothing suitable for variable weather conditions: multiple layers on top. long pants are advised
- rain gear
- hat
- sun protection
- closed-toe shoes
- sunglasses
- water bottle
- lunch/sandwich. We will have lunch after the hike in front of a convent, far from supermarket/grocery. There will be drinking water at the place.
