Building on the success of our inaugural meeting, which sparked inspiring new ideas and fruitful collaborations, we are thrilled to announce the second edition of the "s, i & r Element Nucleosynthesis (sirEN)" Conference on the Nucleosynthesis of Heavy Elements.
This Conference is organised in the memory of Prof. Inmaculada Dominguez, our beloved friend passed away too early.
Understanding the cosmic production of chemical elements remains one of the most fascinating challenges in modern astrophysics. The synthesis of heavy elements—driven by the intricate interplay of the slow, intermediate, and rapid neutron capture processes (s, i, and r)—is the engine that shapes the complex pattern of baryonic matter in our Universe.
Our first edition clearly demonstrated that a synergistic approach, seamlessly integrating experiments, observations, and theoretical frameworks, is essential for unraveling these complex formation echanisms. Driven by this collaborative spirit, we are proposing the same format for this edition, aiming to foster an even deeper collective understanding of the fundamental neutron capture processes at work.
We are delighted to host the conference once again in Giulianova (Italy). Located along the beautiful Adriatic coast in the Abruzzo region, the city offers a rich cultural heritage and a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere—providing the ideal setting to continue our scientific journey and build upon the connections forged last year.
Announcements will follow in the coming months: stay tuned!!!!
