Description

From April 21 to 24, 2026, the fourth edition of the residential training event promoted by the "Astro Sardegna" network of schools was held in Lanusei, Tortolì, and Arbatax.
The event featured seminars by distinguished luminaries in the scientific and literary fields, as well as the award ceremony for a competition for first- and second-year students of Sardinian schools, entitled "We Are Stardust!" The competition once again addressed the theme of "reflections on the unity of scientific and humanistic cultures; the contribution of astronomy and astrophysics from antiquity to the present day". The competition alludes to the Universe, whose elements form from simple atoms to increasingly complex elements. The competition was launched for the first time by the lead school, the "Leonardo Da Vinci" Institute of Lanusei, which established the theme in full coherence with its programs to expand its educational offerings and promote excellence, with the goal of stimulating critical reflection on the long journey undertaken by humanity in its attempt to explain the origins of the Universe.
The course, aimed at both teachers and students participating in the network, aimed to foster the development of teaching methodologies aimed at highlighting the extraordinary richness of our cultural and scientific heritage, starting with Astronomy as the unifying thread, stimulating critical reflection on the long journey that humanity has undertaken over the centuries in its attempt to explain the origins and evolution of the Universe, first through critical thinking, then through increasingly in-depth observations and increasingly advanced tools.
