To reserve a room in one of the hotels reported below, we suggest sending an e-mail, or directly phone calling them, mentioning that the reservation is to participate in the SOXS 2024 meeting at the Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte.
There are of course many other hotels and B&B in addition to the ones reported below. However, to take advantage of the bus shuttle, we invite you to reserve accommodation very close to the bus stops reported in the above maps with grey markers.
We also remind you that late June is a very high season in Naples, thus our last suggestion is to reserve your accommodation as soon as possible.
During the meeting days, we will arrange a shuttle service from and to the city center with bus stops located at:
- Porta Grande (close to the Observatory - 5 minutes walking distance)
- Tondo di Capodimonte (in front to the Grand Hotel Capodimonte)
- National Archeological Museum - Piazza Cavour
- Piazza Matteotti

Local information and travels
Naples can be easily reached by plane
http://www.aeroportodinapoli.it/on-departure/airlines
or railway (it is connected with Rome or Milan by high-speed trains)
http://https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html
Both the airport and the railway stations are close to the Observatory. The best choice is to take a taxi (15-20 min). Typical costs are about 15-20 euros.
There are plenty of things to do, visit and eat in Naples and its surroundings, due to the millenary history of the city.
