Description
"MORFEO, one of the main ground-based astronomical projects with INAF leadership, will provide multi-conjugate adaptive optics corrections to the ESO Extremely Large Telescope instruments MICADO and HARMONI, allowing diffraction limited PSF over a large field of view. This will have a tremendous scientific impact in a large variety of fields, from planetary systems to resolved stellar populations, from galaxy properties to black holes.
In this talk I will briefly review the observing modes and capabilities offered by MORFEO-MICADO, and then I will discuss the main science cases that are expected to be revolutionized the most by these future facilities."
