A guided visit of Villa Farnesina, the famous Renaissance building devised by Baldassarre Peruzzi for the papal banker Agostino Chigi at the beginning of the XVIth century. The participants of the Workshop will discover a seminal monument for the recovery of classical knowledge and in particular the Loggia di Galatea, where in addition to the masterpiece fresco by Raphael the visitors may admire one of the most famous vault of the Italian Cinquecento. The work by Peruzzi represents with all relevant constellations and planets the sky of the birth of Chigi, a real painted horoscope that epitomises the passion for astronomy and astrology in the Renaissance at the time of Copernicus.
