Logistics

Venue and accomodation:

The lessons will be held at the Biancaneve Hotel (Nicolosi, CT), where students will also stay and where meals will be served.

The reservation at the hotel has to be managed directly by the students through  the Hotel webpage, meeting the deadline reported in Key dates and specifying that their reservation is for the INAF PhD School "Lucchin". They will share a room with a colleague and, if desired, can indicate to the hotel who they intend to share the room with. Otherwise, the matches will be made by the hotel. Students will have to cover the expenses for the accommodation and the tourist tax directly to the hotel.

 

The cost of the double room is 125 Euros per night breakfast included (thus 62.50 euros per person). Lunches and dinner are covered by the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics. For any inquiries please write an email to the LOC.

Travel to/from Nicolosi:

We are organizing a bus transport from Catania to Nicolosi and back. The bus will leave on Sunday, May 24, in the late afternoon and will return to Catania on Saturday, May 30. Students interested in using the service must indicate this in the registration form. More details will be given in due time. Alternatively, students can reach the site independently.

Alternative transportation: For guests not using the scheduled event shuttles (Sunday arrival/Saturday departure), independent travel is possible via the AST intercity bus line connecting Nicolosi and central Catania. Registration Fee:

There is no registration fee.

Students will have to cover the hotel room and the transport from their home to Catania and back.

Meals are covered by the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics support.
