GAPS (Global Architecture of Planetary Systems) is a synergic research program dedicated to a better understanding of the census and architecture of planetary systems around different kinds of stars in the Galaxy and a study of the properties, including chemical composition, angular momentum, and magnetic activity, of the host stars. To reach these goals, GAPS makes use of HARPS-N, the high-resolution spectrograph installed in summer 2012 at the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo that provides unrivalled precise radial velocity measurements, and of several other instruments, especially for follow-up observations.
