INAF PhD Schools

The INAF PhD Schools "Francesco Lucchin" are addressed to PhD students in Astronomy and Physics and it is open also to interested young researchers. The aim of the schools is to contribute to their qualification by presenting a series of lectures on two of the most forefront research topics and provide a common cultural baseline on hot topics of international research, both observational and theoretical.

Our intention is to offer to students two schools per year, and our program cover the following tentative topics:

-2025 Fall:

2025, October 26-31: "From fluffy stars to compact objects: a crossroad for physics and astrophysics"

Chairs: Marconi, Bono, Possenti, Di Salvo

-2026 Spring:

(TBC): Gamma rays and exoplanets

Chairs: Antonelli  +TBD

-2026 Fall:

(TBC): High resolution solar physcis and galaxy dynamics

Chairs: Reale/Ermolli +TBD

Such planning over a medium to long time scale allows students to select the most interesting schools during their three-year course. For more info, visit https://indico.ict.inaf.it/e/scuoleLucchin
