Venue

The Fuligno Cenacle in Florence is located inside the medieval convent that once housed the Fuligno nuns, founded in the early 1300s and renovated around 1430, and is a museum dedicated to the large fresco of the Last Supper by Pietro Perugino, dating to the late 1400s.

The convent, deconsecrated during the Napoleonic era, briefly housed the Archeological Museum and the Feroni Collection; after the Florence flood, it served as the Superintendency's repository for flooded works of art.

Today, the Cenacle room also contains frescoes by Bicci di Lorenzo (around 1430) coming from other rooms of the ancient convent of Fuligno, a wooden crucifix by Benedetto da Maiano and a Assumption of the Virgin by Valerio Marucelli, once on the high altar in the Church of Sant’Onofrio.

Reaching Firenze

Firenze hosts an international airport (Peretola Airport) but depending on your point of origin or the flight rates you may prefer to land in Pisa.

If you are already in Italy or neighbouring countries, you may consider the train for eco-responsible/sustainable travelling.

From Firenze Peretola Airport

The cheapest and environment-friendly way to reach the centre of the city is to take the tram at the exit of the airport. This is the tram line T2, direction "Unita". The final station, "Unita", is in front of the main train station "Santa Maria Novella" and close to the city centre (check out "General information" for a map of the tramway). From there you may take a bus or walk to reach your hotel. The single-trip ticket costs 1.70 euros.

You have of course the possibility to take a taxi at the airport to be driven directly to your place of choice.

From Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport

The environment-friendly way to reach Firenze from Pisa airport is to reach the main train station "Pisa Centrale" (~25 min walking, <10 min by regular bus (1.70 euros) or by special shuttle Pisamover (6.50 euros)). From Pisa Centrale, take a regional train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (~1h30, ~10 euros).
