How to reach Siena
From the Florence airport
Take the tramway to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. From there you can go either by train or by bus.-
- By train: there is a direct train every hour. Tickets can be bought at the automatic machines in the station or online at the Trenitalia website.
- By bus: the bus station is located 5 min away from Santa Maria Novella. There is a bus every hour. The bus number is the 131R (Siena Rapida). Bus tickets can be bought at the ticket office.
From the Pisa airport
Take the PisaMover transport to the train station (Pisa Centrale). From there, take the train to Siena. No direct train from Pisa to Siena exists, so you will need to change trains in Empoli. Tickets can be bought at the automatic machines in the station or online at the Trenitalia website. From Bologna Airport
Take the Marconi Express to the Bologna Centrale train station. From there, you can take a high-speed train (Frecciarossa or Italo) to Firenze Santa Maria Novella. From Firenze, you can then reach Siena either by bus or train (see above). NB: we advise you to buy the high-speed train tickets well in advance (2-3 weeks before).
