The national participation program for the Rubin-LSST project, primarily
based on in-kind contributions and on the participation of INAF in the LSST Discovery Alliance Board of Directors (https://lsstdiscoveryalliance.org/about/staff-board/), has been active for four years and will be
fully operational next year. At the same time, the Rubin telescope is
completing its commissioning phases to begin producing scientific data.
The initiative to organize a public day dedicated to the Program therefore
represents an opportunity to update the national community and
collectively discuss the various technical, scientific, and managerial
aspects, while also providing the opportunity to create synergies aimed at
maximizing community involvement and the scientific exploitation of the
data.
