Description

diversity

The meeting will take place from May 5 to May 7, 2025, at the Area della Ricerca in Bologna and will be dedicated to promoting dialogue on welcoming and accessible institutions, from a physical, emotional and cultural point of view.

Main Topics

  • Diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion: meaning, historical overview, regulations, and the need for change.
  • Best practices from Italy and around the world.
  • Current initiatives at INAF.
  • Proposals for necessary and possible future initiatives.

The meeting represents a certified training opportunity and is open to all staff, with particular attention to managerial and administrative roles, as well as interested personnel who do not typically have access to such initiatives.

The event is organized by members of the UNIVERS@LL group (for equity in astrophysics education and outreach), CUG (Single Guarantee Committee), and GEP (Gender Equality Plan). A single Organizing Committee will coordinate the scientific and logistical aspects of this highly cross-cutting topic.

A unique opportunity to contribute to the shift toward a more equitable and inclusive scientific culture!
