4th Meeting of the Italian community dedicated to Ariel's scientific preparation.

The 4th workshop of the Italian community involved in the scientific activities of the Ariel consortium will be held in Palermo on 20-22 May 2024 in the Best Western Ai Cavalieri Hotel.
The meeting will start at 2pm on May 20th and will end at 1pm on May 22nd.
As a community, we are contributing to several aspects of the scientific preparation of the mission and the dry run of the mission in 2025. This national scientific workshop, reserved for Italian consortium participants, therefore will be focused on the ongoing activities for the dry run as planned at the end of the 3rd meeting.
The updates and developments of the analysis defined at the last meeting for the 5 selected targets will be discussed (Wasp-69, Wasp-80, HD189733, HD209458, HAT-P 14).
The steps that have been identified are:
Stellar characterization
Stellar activity
Fundamental properties of the planets
Atmospheric properties
Disc chemistry
Planetary formation and primordial atmospheres
Chemical evolution, photochemistry, CME
Photoevaporation
Magnetosphere and upper atmosphere
Spectral synthesis
Simulations and Retrieval
The goal is to have a lively meeting with room for discussions, exchange of ideas, and planning
With this in mind, we invite you to submit abstracts for the meeting in one of the topic above. Young people are especially encouraged to propose presentations.
You can register on the workshop website ( https://indico.ict.inaf.it/event/2837/ ) and submit the abstract of the talk(s) you would like to present. The detailed program will be defined on the basis of your proposals.
The registrations and the submission of abstracts should be done by April 28 2024, to allow the preparation of the program.
