Description

GAPS (Global Architecture of Planetary Systems) is a synergic research program dedicated to a better understanding of the census and architecture of planetary systems around different kinds of stars in the Galaxy and a study of the properties, including chemical composition, angular momentum, and magnetic activity, of the host stars.

To reach these goals, GAPS makes use of HARPS-N, the high-resolution spectrograph installed in summer 2012 at the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo that provides unrivalled precise radial velocity measurements, and of several other instruments, especially for follow-up observations.

The 9th GAPS Progress Meeting is organised in collaboration with the Fondazione C. Fillietroz-ONLUS, that manages the Astronomical Observatory of the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley and the Planetarium of Lignan, and with the support of the Valle d'Aosta Convention & Visitors Bureau.
