Pre-evento di apertura
Lunedì 8 settembre, alle ore 16:00, presso la Biblioteca Civica Berio (Via del Seminario 16) si svolgerà l'evento inaugurale della mostra “Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Italia: tre viaggi, una passione” (8 settembre - 11 ottobre) organizzata dalla Accademia Polacca delle Scienze a Roma, al quale sono invitati tutti i congressisti. La mostra sarà inaugurata con una conferenza del Prof. Marcin Górecki. Seguirà la visita alla mostra che si concluderà con un aperitivo offerto dall'Accademia. Durante l'evento sarà anche possibile effettuare la pre-registrazione al nostro Congresso.

Visite ai musei e alle collezioni scientifiche
Durante il Congresso sarà offerta ai convegnisti la possibilità di visitare la collezione degli strumenti scientifici del Museo 'Giovanni Boato' e le Sale Idrografico e Colombo del Galata Museo del Mare.
- Il Museo 'Giovanni Boato' del Dipartimento di fisica dell’Università di Genova, fondato nel 1991, comprende 276 strumenti scientifici provenienti dall’Antico Gabinetto di Fisica, (1784-1911) e 266 provenienti dall’Istituto di Fisica (1911-1950). Essi coprono tutti i settori della Fisica, quali Meccanica, Ottica, Acustica, Elettromagnetismo, Termodinamica. I più antichi risalgono alla seconda metà del Seicento. Per la maggior parte sono strumenti scientifici che sono stati utilizzati nelle varie ricerche portate avanti dai fisici genovesi a partire già dalla fine del ‘700.
Nella mattina di martedì 9 settembre, durante i lavori congressuali, Roberto Mantovani presenterà la collezione con il talk "The Scientific Instrument Collection of the 'Giovanni Boato' Museum"; a seguire, durante i lunch e durante i coffe break in tutte le giornate del Congresso, sarà possibile salire al V piano del dipartimento a piccoli gruppi per vedere il museo.
- Il Galata Museo del Mare, situato nell'antico porto della città, è il più grande museo marittimo del Mediterraneo. Ospita esposizioni interattive e ricostruzioni storiche che raccontano la vita dei marinai, le esplorazioni e le migrazioni via mare. Tra le attrazioni principali c'è la fedele riproduzione di un brigantino del Settecento e il sommergibile Nazario Sauro, visitabile internamente.
Martedì 9 settembre, alle ore 17:15, Il Dott. Gianni Carosio, curatore delle collezioni, effettuerà una visita gratuita, riservata ai congressisti, alle Sale Idrografico e Colombo. Per chi desiderasse visitare il resto del museo, sarà necessario munirsi di biglietto d'ingresso.

Pre-opening event
Monday, September 8 at 4:00 PM, at the Civic Library Berio (Via del Seminario 16), the opening event of the exhibition “Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Italy: Three Journeys, One Passion” (September 8 – October 11) will take place. The exhibition is organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences in Rome, and all congress participants are warmly invited. The event will begin with a lecture by Prof. Marcin Górecki, followed by a guided visit to the exhibition. The evening will conclude with an aperitif offered by the Academy. During the event, it will also be possible to pre-register for our Congress.

Guided tours to the museums and Scientific Collection
During the Congress, participants will have the opportunity to visit the scientific instrument collection of the Giovanni Boato Museum and the Galata Maritime Museum.
- The Giovanni Boato Museum, part of the Department of Physics at the University of Genoa and founded in 1991, includes 276 scientific instruments from the Ancient Cabinet of Physics (1784–1911) and 266 from the Institute of Physics (1911–1950). These instruments cover all areas of physics, including Mechanics, Optics, Acoustics, Electromagnetism, and Thermodynamics. The oldest date back to the second half of the 17th century. Most of them were used in various research projects carried out by Genoese physicists since the late 1700s.
On the morning of Tuesday, September 9, during the congress sessions, Roberto Mantovani will present the collection with the talk “The Scientific Instrument Collection of the 'Giovanni Boato' Museum”. Afterwards, during lunch and coffee breaks on all days of the Congress, small groups will have the opportunity to go up to the 5th floor of the department to visit the museum.
- The Galata Maritime Museum, located in the city's old port, is the largest maritime museum in the Mediterranean. It features interactive exhibitions and historical reconstructions that tell the story of sailors, explorations, and sea migrations. Highlights include a faithful reproduction of an 18th-century brig and the Nazario Sauro submarine, which can be explored inside.
On Tuesday, September 9th at 5:15 PM, Dr. Gianni Carosio, curator of the collections, will lead a free private tour of the Hydrographic and Columbus Rooms exclusively for congress attendees. Visitors who wish to explore the rest of the museum will need to purchase an admission ticket.
