Although each astronomical catalogue on its own can be a very powerful scientific tool, it is the combination of archives with each other that truly opens up amazing possibilities for modern astronomical research and more closely meets its requirements. The advanced interoperation of archives should leave the user with the feeling of working with one single data archive. The first step for...

In the context of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), INAF is developing an end-to-end prototype of the CTA Small-Size Telescopes in dual-mirror (SST-2M) configuration. The prototype, named ASTRI-Horn, is located at the INAF "M.C. Fracastoro" observing station in Serra La Nave (Mt. Etna, Sicily), and is currently undergoing the performance verification phase. A mini-array of nine ASTRI...

The archive is one of the most important sub-systems in current astronomical facilities, e.g. it is the privileged interface used by Principal Investigators (PIs) to access and retrieve their own data. However, the traditional conception of archive as merely repository of raw observations needs to be rethought: new radio telescopes such as ALMA, ASKAP, LOFAR and MeerKAT (and, in future, SKA)...
