DESCRIPTION:This international congress will present current research in a
 strometry\, small bodies of the solar system\, including asteroids\, dwarf
  planets\, and comets\, and new technologies\, with a focus on high-precis
 ion space-based astrometry\, big data and AI applications in celestial mec
 hanics\, planetary defense and near-Earth object monitoring\, advanced sur
 vey missions\, and next-generation observational instrumentation.\nThe mee
 ting is inspired by the scientific legacy of Giuseppe Piazzi (1746–1826)
 \, founder of the Observatory of Palermo and General Director of the Obser
 vatories of Palermo and Naples\, discoverer of Ceres in 1801\, and author 
 of a major star catalogue\, whose work continues to influence modern devel
 opments in these fields.\nThe bicentenary of his death provides the occas
 ion to bring the international community together around the current front
 iers of these fields.\n The congress will be structured into four session
 s: \n1. Astrometry\; \n2. Small Bodies of the Solar System I – Comets\
 , Meteorites and Debris\; \n3. Small Bodies of the Solar System II – As
 teroids\, Dwarf Planets and TNO\; \n4. New Technologies.\nRegistrations h
 ave been extended till 10 September.\nPlease\, also note that the conferen
 ce is in-person and that no poster session is planned. \nA programme 
 of side events is in preparation\, including public conferences\, concert
 s\, and astronomical observations\, in collaboration with other local part
