 des for cosmological simulations represent the most advanced tools for cap
 turing the complexity of the formation and evolution of cosmic structures 
 over a wide range of cosmic epochs and physical scales. These codes have t
 raditionally been developed and optimized to use massively parallel HPC in
 frastructures. With the advent of exascale-class facilities\, these codes 
 need to be deeply revised and adapted to the ever-evolving architectures.\
 nWith this meeting\, we will gather collaborators who\, for years\, have b
 een actively involved in developing and applying the OpenGADGET cosmologic
 al simulation code\, which represents an evolution of the GADGET code. At 
 the same time\, the group of developers and users of OpenGADGET has tradit
 ionally always benefited from the proximity and collaboration with colleag
 ues working on observational aspects of extragalactic astrophysics and cos
 mology.\nThe four main broad areas of investigation that will be discussed
  during the workshop can be summarized as follows:\n\nPresentation and cri
 tical discussion of results from ongoing simulation campaigns.\nDevelopmen
 t of innovative algorithmic solutions and porting of OpenGADGET on hybrid 
 architectures.\nDevelopment of various new modules to describe physical an
 d astrophysical processes to be included in simulations.\nPlanning the nex
 t generation of cosmological simulations.\n\nWe expect short contributions
  from the participants\, with much time reserved for coordinated discussio
 ns and open brainstorming to solidify current projects and start new ones.
