Description

The AHEAD2020 2nd General Meeting will be a face-to-face meeting held on 26-27 November 2024 in Rome, and we very much look forward to welcoming you all there in person for this important event.
Like the 1st General Meeting held in May 2023, this is a full team meeting, i.e. open to all persons contributing to the project, allowing to share the results and discuss progress of each activity.
The main goals of this meeting are to organise the activities for the final report, discuss mid-term prospects and networking with other communities.

The meeting will be held at Palazzo Passarini Falletti, Via Panisperna 207, Rome, over two days.
The location is in the city centre and at walking distance from Termini train station.

The meeting is open to contributed e-Posters by participants wishing to present their contributions, as members of a project task but also as participants to the Visitor Program or Transnational Access Program.

There will be no registration fee for this event. Lunches and breaks will be offered.

Remote access to the plenary session will be available through the following links:

Meeting organisation
The general meeting will start on Tuesday 26th at 10:00 AM and end on Wednesday 27th, around 1:00 PM. Immediately afterward, starting early afternoon, a meeting of the Executive Committee (restricted attendance) will be held with the aim of preparing the upcoming final review with EC.

The general meeting will be based on general and parallel sessions organised by topics.
On the morning and early afternoon of Tuesday 26, the project status will be reviewed through presentations by the Coordinator's team and WP leaders. Parallel sessions will be started around mid-afternoon on the same day.

On 27 November, the morning will be dedicated to draw conclusions of parallel sessions work and reporting, plus a final discussion/round table.
A detailed program will be provided in the coming weeks.

The (suggested) parallel sessions are:
1. Key technologies for future facilities and innovation (WP 5, 9, 10, 11, 15)
2. Maximise science exploitation for present and future HE and MM facilities (WP 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14)
3. Networking activities and Public Outreach (WP 2, 3, 4)
The goal of the parallel sessions is to highlight the key results and the related impact on the community across the whole project duration, thus providing fundamental input for the preparation of the final report to EC. A rapporteur will present the outcome of the session during the meeting for discussion.

A limited number of contributed talks will be assigned to each parallel session.
Submitted e-posters will be uploaded on a dedicated repository and visible by all participants during the meeting.
Short presentations of a selection of submitted e-Posters (5’, typically 2-3 slides) will be organised during parallel sessions if compatible with the session schedule.

It is possible to find the program with the agenda at the bottom of the homepage of the website.

AHEAD2020 team members are asked to register now.
Registration will close on November 15th.

We strongly encourage in-person attendance though we plan to organize remote connection.

Please advise the LOC (ahead_po.iaps@inaf.it) in case you plan to give a
presentation remotely.

A social dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday 26.
