The Italian Embassy in Brasilia celebrates the National Space Day organizing a symposium entitled “The Italian Brazilian’s collaboration in the study of the Universe” in collaboration with the Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica (LNA) and Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF). The ties between Italian and Brazilian astronomy are deep and enduring, stretching from Galileo's pioneering observations to the pivotal contributions of figures like Giuseppe Occhialini to the development of physics and cosmic ray research in Brazil. Today, both nations continue to share expertise across numerous international research projects. This symposium represents a unique opportunity to celebrate the rich history and future of scientific collaboration. A wide array of topics, from optical and infrared observational infrastructure and scientific instrumentation to radioastronomy, from the application of new technologies like AI to the space observation to the study of gravitational waves will be discussed in the scientific sessions in order to explore and foster potential new collaborations
