Spoke 3 Simulation Runs Discovery Metadata Schema
Padrielli
IRA-Bologna
In this meeting we will work on a metadata schema for publishing astronomical simulation metadata.
Metadata schema are cucial when publishing research data to ensure the FAIRness of said data. If available, the use of standardised metadata schema is strongly recommended.
In regard of astronomical simulation data the IVOA recommends the usage of SimDM, providing an elaborate and very detailed metadata schema. Though quite a bit too detailed for the Spoke3 demands this schema is a good starting point.
Other IVOA standards prove a robust set of data publishing recommendatations for astronomical observation data. Hence we will briefly introduce into the existing interoperability infrastructure available for obsevational data, the Virtual Observatory (VO), the recommendation standard SimDM, and from there work out the needs for publishing the results of the simulation runs of GADGET, PLUTO and RAMSES within the Spoke3 project.
The first day of the meeting will be a "plenary" to identify the common needs, whereas the second day (8.May) will be dedicated for the simulation runs based on RAMSES.
We will get in touch for the projects using GADGED and PLUTO within the next weeks, do repeat this step and prepare for publishing the data.
